The first purpose of South Hills Catholic Academy is to draw students into a living relationship with Jesus Christ, and through Him to a clearer understanding of the content of our curriculum.
This formation finds its foundation in the Church’s Sacramental life. We envision having the regular presence of a priest whose ministry of offering Christ in the Eucharist, Reconciliation, traditional Catholic devotions and Spiritual Direction will make Jesus Christ present daily to our students.
Everyday the academy will offer points of entry to a life in Christ through:
Regular Prayer – Morning Prayer, Noon Angelus, Grace before Meals, etc.
Weekday Masses – Offered Several Times Each Week
Weekly Eucharistic Adoration
Regular Opportunities for Confession
Seasonal Devotions (i.e.Stations of the Cross, May Crowning, etc.)
Miraculous Medal Novena
Age Appropriate Service Opportunities
Non-Catholic children will participate in the spiritual / faith formation program of the academy to the degree allowable, with the hope that they will be moved to freely ask to become members of the Catholic Faith.
